Free Online Dictionary

Still remember when I was a student long ago, we'd to use dictionary "book" to find our strange words. Open page by page, searching with alphabets, until we reached the final word. And, most of the times, we would encounter another one or few more unknown meaning words in the explanation contents for the initial word. Then, we'd to keep going the same process again, until we're tired with the game. However, we might already forget the meaning of the initial word we had managed to search out just now, then we've to researching again. That's really annoying, and the more killing was, you have to bring a long this thick giant mute "teacher" to school, library or tuition class. Nevertheless, teachers used to say this is the best way of learning. Well, I agree.

Nowadays, things had changed. When digital dictionary had flown into the market, learning has became more and more easy. You no need to bring along the old thick giant mute "teacher" when reading paper, nor forcing to memorise a word you'd came across on the street and check it back later with dictionary at home. All you need to have is a small digital component, you can carry to wherever you go easily. It's quite welcome and sound like a compass to people who are travelling in foreign countries.

Same to us when surfing online. Sometimes, we might come across many unknown vocabulary, and don't tell me you still holding a thick giant mute "teacher" with you. Dude, you should holding a cup of coffee indeed. Just in case, if you really don't have an idea where to find a digital dictionary, I would like to introduce one online dictionary website to you. You can even place the widget on your own webpage, as I did on this blog ( Please refer to my sitebar). Just type in the vocab you need to search, and it will brings what you need to know. Besides, there are also many learning activities you could go through. Oh...yah! It's supported by Cambridge Dictionaries Online, and the most fascinated is -- It's FREE !!

Here's the website for Cambridge Dictionaries Online:-

Malaysia F1 2008

The new season of F1, Formula One World Championship is back. The 2008 grand opens in Melbourne, Australia, and the Round 2 will be hosted in Malaysia, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from 21st. to 23rd.March..

SIC will work closely with Tourism Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and the Ministry of Federal Territory to turn Kuala Lumpur into a city of festivals. SIC targeted to attract 125,000 spectators to this year F1 event. This target is possible to achieve, because last year they had managed to capture about 115,000 spectators. One of the strategy is to target on foreign spectators from Singapore. In last year, the Singapore market had contributed not less than 20,000 spectators, and this year SIC intend to rise it to not less than 50,000 Singapore spectators. In order to promote the event to more Singaporean, SIC had run concentrate road show and continous promotion in Malacca and Johor Baru city. Where this two cities are popular spots for weekend retreats among Singaporeans.

Organised since 1999, the Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix is more than just a race for Malaysia as it has become an effective promotion of Malaysia in the international arena, especially as a tourist destination.

MATTA Fair 2008

Just came back from MATTA Fair 2008 in Putra World Trade Centre. Today is the first day of the fair, and it will be end by this Sunday evening. As expected, it was extremely clouded. But we estimated tomorrow and Sunday would be peak.

We'd arrive there about 2:00pm, had collected many brouchers and package information. Doesn't matter you need it or not, the stuff from each travel agencies will just try pushing all the brouchers to you. It might due to too many travel agencies there and the business competition was too hot. Well, you just don't know how to choose. After visiting some booths, I already felt exhausted will all loaded packages information. My minds was totally out. Don't know what to choose.

Some offers were really cheap, but you have to be careful. Most of its were using Air Asia flight. That is the reason why they can offer so low price. And, some more you have to ask whether it's covered for airport tax and air flight fuel. If it's excluded, you better put its into your mind to add in your budgets. Besides, you should also ask what type of hotel is in the package? Is there any options to choose? Up to what standard is the hotel (how many stars)? Normally they will allow you to upgrade the hotel (eg. from 3 stars to 4 stars; from border location to downtown), but there will be additional charges. So, all this kinds of options and upgrade consideration will put the decision more complicated.

If you are confusing and can't really make up your mind, I suggest you find a seat in the food and beverage booths which located nearby, and order a cup coffee. Then, carefully review back every information you had collected just now. If you still can't make up your mind ( I know it's tough. In fact I can't make up my mind in the fair), then I suggest you do as I did. Bring back all the information and discuss again with your spouse or family member who will join your trip. Then find the best and drop by the fair again by tomorrow or Sunday.

In fact I already made my decision now for my vacation plan, and I'm going to drop by the fair by tomorrow afternoon again. I hope you will find yours in this MATTA Fair 2008.

MATTA FAIR

MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) has organized its famous travelling fair in PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre) from 14th.March until 16th.March. Since this fair in held during Malaysia school holidays, expected will able attract many participants. In fact, many big tour agencies had already started published their offer packages on press weeks ago. And, some rumors even stated that without visting their counters in the fair, they could offer the same price for same package during the period by dropping by their branches. But, how true is it? We don't know. If really true, some people might try escape from the clouded event and just make their convenient by ordering through the agents. Well, this strategy may look like taking advantages to the fair and will raise the question on business ethics and being unfair to the fair organiser. Any how, personally I don't think this will bring a big impact to the event. By looking back to previous results, the fair seem well known and welcomed by most of Malaysian.

Some of the most famous travel agencies who has participated in this fair are Holiday Tours, Qantas-British Airways, Reliance Travel, Royal Brunei, Berjaya Holidays and etc. For Airlines, they are not only offer air tickets, but you can also choose a trip package from them. The package is of cause much cheaper then booking the hotel and air ticket separately.

Compare to MAS (Malaysia Airlines) Fair which was held in last month, February 2008, MATTA Fair is more welcome by most of Malaysian. This is because MAS Fair was offer air tickets instead of tour package. It was more benefited to people who used to travel for business purpose or same destination for certain reasons. If you only buy the air tickets (even though in very cheap price) in MAS Fair, and book the hotel or accomodation in separate ways, you can't get a very reasonable price for staying and others park ticketing. So, since MATTA organiser had announced this fair long ago, people will keep waiting for another one month. MATTA Fair was so well known by people through its pass achievement.

Some of my friends commented that they rather to go visit the fair even though it's expected extremely clouded. Because you would have more options to choose and sometimes might get surprise prizes or special price on certain packages. One of my friend, on last year event, had even won a free trip to Thailand by lucky draw. So, majority still willing to go visit the fair, only if you'd already decided your trip destination and you only honour to certain tour agencies.

This event is not hold once a year. If you are not able to make it, or if you only able to have your holiday by end of this year, let say November or December. Then you still can catch it for the 2nd. round which will held from 10th. to 12th.October. I expect the venue will be same at PWTC.
Besides that, in between, MATTA will also hold another two similar fairs, which is although much smaller, in Penang and Seremban. For Penang MATTA Fair, it will be hold at PISA (Penang International Sports Arena) from 4th.July to 6th.July 2008. While Seremban MATTA Fair will be hold at Seremban Parade Shopping Centre from 11th.July to 13th.July 2008.

MATTA Fair, March 2008

Malaysia MATTA Fair is back and will be held from today, 14th.Mach until this coming Sunday, 16th.March. The event will be held in Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

This is the time where PWTC will be clouded with visitors. People who has plan or without any plan for vacation will drop by catching for cheap vacation package or fly tickets. Air Asia’s competitor, Firefly which was established since last year, April 2007, has offered tickets as low as RM9.99 (excluding airport tax and fuel surcharge) for domestic and regional flight, plus others various choice of holiday packages. The holiday packages offered come with free tickets, but travel period is restricted to 17th.March until 25th.October 2008. These offers were Firefly strategies to attract more customers, after a big success in Penang MATTA Fair last year June, where they had given out 120,000 free tickets.

On another hand, Air Asia which had already penetrated the economic flight market long ago, has also came out with several offers online which are very attractive. Air Asia is offering 5,000 free seats from KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) to Gold Coast in Australia. Besides, they also offer three new destination flights. There are Hong Kong, Haikou (Hainan) and Ho Chi Minh city. All these three destinations come with special offering tickets also.

Back to MATTA Fair, it will comprise 3 halls in PWTC, over 860 booths are setting up. Hall 1 and 2 are mainly for international package, airlines and cruises. These halls 1 and 2 will have direct access from Jalan Ipoh or you may enter direct from Hall 3. There are total of six designated premium area for exhibitors taking a minimum of 20 booths. And Hall 3 is mainly for domestic, Asean and other traveling related products and services. Since this is the biggest traveling fair in Malaysia, for sure who used to travel or plan to have a memorable budget vacation, MATTA Fair in PWTC will be the right time and right place to go.

Gordon Wu Ying Sheung

Sir Gordon Wu Ying Sheung (Born in December 1935, still Living in Hong Kong), the Hong Kong Tycoon, chairman of Hong Kong-listed Hopewell Holdings Ltd , has for 20 years advocated the construction of Asia's largest bridge project linking Hong Kong, Macau and China's Zhuhai city. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge project was given support by the PRC government in August 2003.

Since the 1980s, Wu has steered Hopewell Holdings towards developing his vision of creating a world-class transport system for China's manufacturing powerhouse in the Pearl River Delta, which includes much of Guangdong province and makes use of its proximity to Hong Kong to access professional services and logistics.

The bridge will span two man-made islands, allowing it to go through an undersea tunnel and let shipping pass. The concept is based on the existing Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in Virginia, United States.

Here's recorded some of his famous quotes in his business life.

"You have to earn money the hard way. Because no-one will serve it up to you on a silver platter."

"I probably have mellowed down a bit. But when it comes to principles, I still have to make a stand."

"Princeton has made an enormous difference in my life, and I am delighted to be able to express my gratitude in such a tangible way. The generosity of earlier generations of donors made it possible for me to attend Princeton as a young student from Hong Kong, and I have always wanted to do all I could to assure that students in the future.. from the United States and around the world.. will have the same kinds of opportunities I had to learn from faculty members who are leaders in their fields at a university that remains second to none in its commitment to teaching."
~talking about his $100 million donation to Princeton University

"Whenever there is a a financial crisis, it is always the banks that get hit."

"Anybody who doesn’t think that Hong Kong has to depend on the PRC (China) must be the biggest idiot on earth because you are talking about getting access to a 1.3 billion people market."

Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge

Another giant project in the world. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is a giant proposed series of bridges and tunnels in the world. It will be the biggest and longest in Asia. Full length of 29 kilometre or about 18 miles. The giant bridge would connect the west side of Hong Kong with Macau and the neighbouring city of Zhuhai, situated on the west side of the Pearl River Delta, and part of mainland China's southern industrial powerhouse. This giant bridge is expected to cost US $2 billion to $3.7 billion.

With its length, it would probably become one of the landmarks in Asia; it is comparable with the world's longest bridge, the Second Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in the United States, which is 38.4 kilometers long.

Anthony Robbins

First time I came across Anthony Robbins was from his book entitle "Unlimited Power". I found this book from MPH bookstore somewhere in Johor Bahru. I was amazed by the NLP principles that been discussed in the topics. Is it all my failure was caused by my behaviours that I didn't realised all the way? Is it really a die hard habits can be changed? That book gave me a relevant answer, exactly pin-point to my mind.

Even though I had read some of Anthony Robbins book, but I'd never attend his class at all. Never had a chance. So, I always imagined how will he perform his NLP technic in front of his audients, how can he inspiring them with his miracle ways. Until one day, I found his video on TED.com. Even it is only a short talk, but what I can say is it is really amazed me. So, I wanna share with all of you this scripts which supported by TED and some of its description as written below,

" Anthony Robbins might have one the world’s most famous smiles; his beaming confidence has helped sell his best-selling line of self-help books, and fill even his 10,000-seat seminars. What’s less known about the iconic motivational speaker is the range and stature of his personal clients. From CEOs to heads of state to Olympic athletes, a wide swath of high-performing professionals (who are already plenty motivated, thank you very much) look to him for help reaching their full potential.Robbins’ expertise in leadership psychology is what brought him to TED, where his spontaneous on-stage interaction with Al Gore created an unforgettable TED moment. It also perfectly demonstrated Robbins’ direct -- even confrontational -- approach, which calls on his listeners to look within themselves, and find the inner blocks that prevent them from finding fulfillment and success. Some of his techniques -- firewalking, for example -- are magnets for criticism, but his underlying message is unassailable: We all have the ability to make a positive impact on the world, and it’s up to us, as individuals, to overcome our fears and foibles to reach that potential.Robbins has won many accolades for his work -- including his memorable performance in the Jack Black comedy Shallow Hal. (It was a small but vital role.) His Anthony Robbins Foundation works with the homeless, elderly and inner-city youth, and feeds more than 2 million people annually through its International Basket Brigade. "
